After completing Algebra 2 or Algebra 2/Trig, students usually take Pre-Calculus to prepare for Calculus AB the following year. This class moves at a slower pace in comparison to Pre-Calculus Honors. Sophomore Gandhar Tare spends about 15 to 20 minutes a day working on homework for the class.
“So most of our work is online — our homework is online as well,” Tare said. “And so how the class usually works is we have a huge packet for the entire unit. We do problems out of this packet everyday. So during class the teacher works out problems and then tells us to do the remaining ones.”
Besides personal difficulties with using technology, Tare believes the class difficulty is not too high and the class is simple, in comparison to Pre-Calculus Honors.
“I would recommend that [students] could have a conversation with their previous teacher and decide together what class would be better for them,” Tare said.
