Before taking Physiology, students should have basic knowledge of biology and chemistry, but taking a chemistry course at MVHS is not required. According to junior Elene Pilpani, the class consists of taking lecture notes on topics such as the human body system and anatomy.
“Physiology is really enjoyable,” Pilpani said. “It's a super laid-back class where you actually do learn a lot. And it's a lot of things that are useful and applicable to daily life [like] diet and working out.”
Pilpani spent an average of 30 minutes on work outside of class daily.
“Compared to [the difficulty of] other MVHS classes, especially the science classes, I'd give it a one out of five,” Pilpani said. “I think it's very much manageable and it's very doable. There's nothing that you can't do.”
Fridays are Pilpani’s favorite days in Physiology, in which students partake in wellness activities such as making food and napping. While the class is fun and enjoyable, Pilpani warns prospective students to avoid not taking the class seriously.
“I think that as long as [students] don't view the class as a complete joke, they're [going to] be fine,” Pilpani said. “I know there are some people that don't do the homework [or] the notes. And then they're going to be in a situation that they put themselves in, but that's nobody's fault except their own.”
