Physics is a laboratory-based class focused on applying conceptual understanding to mathematical equations and is less intensive than AP Physics 1. Students interested in taking Physics are recommended to have completed Algebra 1.
“It's a lot of figuring out equations and exploration based on those equations and real-life examples of where those equations can be applied,” sophomore Lia Vorthmann said. “Knowing when to apply which equation and making sure you fully understand the concepts [is hard] because some of them are kind of complicated.”
Other than complex problems, the class is relatively easy for Vorthmann and she recommends that students take notes from problems done by the teacher on the whiteboard.
“I think anybody can do well in that class as long as they study material and pay attention in class because it's pretty straightforward,” Vorthmann said.
