Economics is a semester-long course for seniors. It is a required course, although students have the option of taking AP Macroeconomics instead. Throughout the course, students cover topics such as supply and demand, credit insurance and distribution of goods.
Senior Anish Gupta took regular Economics and describes his experience as fairly standard and expected. He believes that the class isn’t particularly difficult nor very easy, but the time spent on work does fluctuate often due to a high volume of group projects throughout the semester.
Though he did enjoy the class as a whole and recommends it to students who worry about AP Economics being too challenging, he acknowledges that there were high and low moments regarding the curriculum.
“The least favorite thing was the lectures because I just remember being bored in them,” Gupta said. “But sometimes there were like, little games spread out, which were fun. The most interesting things were the projects and presentations because people were very creative in that class.”
