AP Calculus AB covers seven chapters of material, at a pace about twice as slow as AP Calculus BC. After feeling overwhelmed with Pre-Calculus Honors at times sophomore year, junior Christopher Oh considers the pacing of AP Calculus AB as his favorite thing about the class.
“Although the concepts can be kind of hard at some times, I feel that the pacing makes sure that you can retain and get all the information,” Oh said.
Oh spends an average of 30 minutes a day outside of school, mostly to study for tests and review material covered each week. He says this helps him stay organized and avoid cramming material near the end of the semester.
“Definitely, if you have an interest in math but you have a lot of tough courses for this year, I would recommend taking AB, as opposed to BC, because this pace is so you don't have to spend so much time on it and you can focus on your other classes, too,” Oh said.
