AP Environmental Science focuses on the Earth’s systems — the hydrosphere, biosphere, lithosphere and atmosphere — and can count as either physical or life science credit. Junior Prerana Bathula is taking the course this year.
“It’s a course where you learn about human impact on the earth and the sustainability of our resources,” Bathula said. “It’s great for becoming more environmentally aware, finding out about the negative effects that humans and natural occurrences have and the ways you can contribute to a healthier planet.”
For this course, Bathula spends the most time (around an hour at most) studying for tests and doesn’t need to worry about doing homework every day. When there is homework, it takes Bathula less than an hour to complete.
“My favorite part about the class is that it’s pretty chill and it’s easy to forget that you’re taking an AP [class],” Bathula said. “The difficulty level isn’t that high and compared to the other AP science classes — it [is] a lot less stressful.”
